✨ About the Day

Each Open Day is a guided group experience. The morning begins with an in-depth tour of the base and its living systems. After sharing a vegetarian lunch together, the afternoon is dedicated to a permaculture introduction and hands-on skill practice.
Please note: as some sessions involve explanation and instruction, we recommend this experience for children kindergarten-age and above.

Seasonal Themes:
🌱 Spring Equinox — Planting: We’ll tend the food forest together and plant seedlings suited for spring and summer.
💧 Summer Solstice — Water: Learn where water comes from and how to filter water in emergency situations.
🏔️ Autumn Equinox — Disaster Preparedness: Explore common natural disasters in Taiwan and how thoughtful design can help us prepare.
🔥 Winter Solstice — Energy: Discover the importance of energy independence — and everyone gets a chance to make fire.

✨ About Pugu

Pugu has been dedicated to permaculture education for 14 years. Now in its seventh year, Pugu Base is a piece of land lovingly tended by the Pugu family, students, and collaborators alike.The base features natural building structures, Alphagem spatial energy & Nine Seals feng shui, a straw-brick classroom, a composting toilet, a semi-outdoor kitchen, shower facilities, vegetable gardens, and a variety of sustainable living systems — all cared for with love and an unhurried pace, growing brighter and more welcoming each season.

In 2026, Pugu founders Parama & Ellejana, together with fellow collaborators Chia and CCM, warmly invite you to experience Pugu Base in a new and immersive way — and to expand your imagination of what sustainable living can truly look like.

✨ Volunteer
On the Monday and Tuesday following each Open Day, Pugu hosts planting and natural building work sessions led by Pugu collaborators. Open Day participants are welcome to stay on as volunteers — no additional fee required. Participants arrange their own meals, accommodation, and transport.
